Online Course on Open Educational Resources (COER17)

Link to the course in iMooX

Open Educational Resources (OER) are open or free materials for teaching and learning that are usually made available as electronic resources on the Internet in various formats. OER are normally licensed such that they can be accessed, used, passed on and even modified freely. Thus, the concept of OER can be seen as a new way of creating and sharing materials in education.

The course adresses people, especially in academia, who

  • are interested in OER for teaching or learning,
  • are interested in sharing their materials as OER,
  • want to get an overview of the OER topic in general as well as existing initiatives and projects,
  • already have OER experience and want to discuss the topic further.

Workshops for Educators

Introductory OER workshops for educators were held in Graz (20.04.), Vienna (25.04.) and Innsbruck (27.04.). The slides can be downloaded under Materials.

Workshops for Producers

Up to now, a graphics workshop targeted towards executive producers of Open Educational Resources was developed, other topics are to follow. These workshops can be held on demand in small groups or as individual trainings and tailored to the requirements of specific disciplines.
